Hahaha, give em five years. Sometimes you can't see whats right in front of your nose. Tennessee is one of the few states with a higher crime rate than Florida and Charlotte is is one of the few cities/metropolitan areas with a higher crime rate than Orlando. Also, ask the real natives there what they think of their new halfback malcontent neighbors.

To be honest, I dont think there are that many true natives in CLT. It just seems to be a collection of Floridians/Natives/Others who have moved there, and to be honest, just seem like happier people than our collection of folks in Orlando.

I doubt Clt has more crime than Orlando. Ask the people in Clt who are from Orlando which feels worse. I bet Orlando.

"Feels" is the key but it can not be proven. Do some research for yourself. Crime in both cities is spread all over the place, but even more so in Charlotte, so you don't really have very many scary type areas up there, however turn on the news and watch the horror. Like I said, they are happier because they just got there and the housing is cheap.

I'm not going to argue that with you again. I've said my peice and statistics vary, esp. from city-data to other stats pages.

Consider something about your stats- those aren't per-capita rates. Florida is the fourth largest state, while I'm not sure what Tennessee and North Carolina are, they are MUCH smaller than Florida so the sheer number of individual crimes is going to be higher.

Nevada Ranked Most Dangerous State - News Story - WRC | Washington

Check the bottom to see where Tennessee and Florida rank. NC is safer but I was referring to Charlotte. I'm not trying to protect anyones rep (I don't even like Orlando at all), I'm just giving the facts without manipulating them to an agenda. Both states are in the top 10 most dangerous and need to improve. At least Florida is well aware of it's problem.

I don't really care about " per capita " You could just as well say that almost 60% of Tennessee crime is committed in Memphis which is a 4 hour drive from Nashville and an 8 hour drive from Knoxville.

OK, see what I mean? Sorry, Tennessee has more crimes committed per person than Florida. You might not want to accept it, but it's true. Really. Florida has 18 million people and Tennessee has 4 million. So yes, a higher number of crimes are committed in Florida, however your chances of being victimized in Tennessee are higher, and no, it's not just Memphis, and you don't have anything to prove that 60% figure. Look, it's all facts and figures and you might not care because you feel safer but don't start with facts and figures and then discredit relevant ones because you don't like them. I could claim that 60% of the crime is committed in Orlando area and Miami-Dade County. While a disproportionate amount of Florida's crime is committed in those two areas, 60% is a lie. It is true that a disproportionate amount of crime in Tennessee is committed in Memphis.

I love not living around so many criminals and sex offenders.
See? Blanket statement comparing your neighborhood to a state with 18 million people and hundreds and thousands of neighborhoods. Guess what? I live in Florida, and my city is the second safest city of over 50 thousand in the South (only to Flower Mound, TX). There are 65 thousand people and 4 sex offenders (zero predators). See? Depends on what part of Florida too.

What does any of this have to do with the original topic anyway?
