If you will only be using the property occasionally for holiday, and desire to let it out during the times you will not be there you must purchase a home in a short-term rental zoned neighborhood. If you where just planning on using it for yourself or perhaps a few friends and family you will be able to purchase anywhere you like, though I may reccomend a townhome or condo community for maintenance reasons, being you will have the property vacant most of the time.

The best Short-Term Rental area's I think are in the Davenport area just south of Disney. In particular, in your price range, I like the Calabay Parc and Highlands Reserve neighborhoods. Both have very nice, furnished, sizeable homes under $300K, and they rent quite well.

There are several other possibilities that may also work for you. When where you next planning a visit to the states?

If I were buying a vacation home I would not buy in Orlando, buy somewhere along the coast where you could enjoy the beach and still be close enough to the Orlando attractions. Places like Cocoa Beach are great.
