Well, based on FCAT grades, check out the Boone HS, Olympia HS, Winter Park HS and Dr. Phillips HS feeder chains in Orange County.

Many people believe that FCAT scores alone are not a comprehensive assessment of a school's value (even some A schools), so it is best to look into each school.

Oviedo has the highest rated schools, followed by Winter Park, then you will find Olympia, Dr. Phillips and Timber Creek, the rest fall below those.

I teach environmental science & coach basketball in Seminole County. Seminole County has the best schools - that is why my wife and I chose Heathrow in Lake Mary 11 years ago. You can compare individual schools by visiting Florida's Department of Education web site.

I personally don't like the FCAT results. I grew up in NY, and an A school here would be a C or D school there.

I used these two sites to help us decide the schools: www.schooldigger.com and www.greatschools.net I saw a few A rated schools on School Digger with 3 stars.
