I have been to Chicago many times and have found their traffic not to be bad at all for the size of the city. Orlando is probably at least 5 times smaller than Chicago, yet its traffic is about the same if not worse. Factor on to that the shear lack of highways and public transportation in Orlando and you have yourself a major problem.

The problem is Orlando does not have the proper infrastructure for the population here.

I agree with this statement a lot, but I do not generally think the traffic is that bad in the area. I would avoid I-4 like the plague though, as this is the major headache in the area.

It's pretty bad down here in Osceola county even on the back roads. Traveling on John Young is a nightmare and even if we wanted to take I-4 there is no easy way to get on it. I don't know if it is worse than Chicago but for the size of the town it should not be this bad.

I have no problems as long as I don't get on I4 during the morning or evening commutes. I live 12 miles from my job and my travel time varies from 18-30 minutes.

I lived in Chicago for more than 40 years, and seriously, when I hear people talking about the "bad traffic" here in Orlando.......they have NO clue about what "bad traffic" really is. I used to live 5 miles from work in Chicago and some days it would take me more than 60 minutes to get there during rush hour.
