If any UCF people, or Orlandoians can enlighten me on this school, that would be great. This is the only public school in the state of FL that has my major, so I'm very interested.

UCF is a great school, especially for Engineering.
They are having a lot of budget problems right now.
I have a lot of friends who work there and depending on what dept they are in, some are very worried about their jobs.

The school has gotten much better in many aspects over the past few years. Just from an outsiders standpoint and with no other knowledge of UCF except as an Orlando resident here's what I've seen.

Campus has grown, not only in size but a very nice Campus now
The school has become much more traditional (residential) and much less commuter
They are really starting to establish tradition there
New on campus Football stadium has boosted school spirit exponentially
Alumni base seems to be coming into Prominence now (ie. I more UCF plates now where it used to be mostly UF plates)

Seems like it would be a good college experience now.

I'm currently a student a UCF. The campus keeps growing and growing....you'll get lost! But it is a great school. A lot of their degrees and programs are offered online, as well.

My son just graduated from there. CS and Engineering schools are outstanding. I was also very impressed with their job placement. They held job fairs frequently and my son had 5 offers from major companies on the table in the two months before graduation! The only negative I know anything about is parking.

Finished my undergraduate work there and took some grad classes and I live within about 3 miles. Other than the above mentioned parking problems, I would recommend it to anyone. The new stadium and arena have really boosted school spirit, which was seriously lacking years ago.

parking blows...but u get used to it and its just a normal part of your routine..just get on campus early...you'll fall into the groove of it all.

as a recent graduate...the school itself is a good educational facility and with all the new improvements as mentioned above..its only getting better and i can only say now that i wish i was enterting it as a freshman to experience all the cool 'city' like things they have put in (seriously it has like its own downtown now its krazy), and of course the new stadium...i think you'll have a great college life there

UCF is next to Research Park - which is fast becoming or is the center for all things Simulated. The military has much if not a very large simulation group here in central florida.
