True. I have a friend who lives in Thornton Park and she told me this several years ago. It's a beautiful neighborhood but pricey.

Wrong....As someone posted earlier, you need a car everywhere in Florida. Miami/Ft Lauderdale are no exception. |

I second that!

2 issues:
1: staying at a resort: take a hotel at one of the resorts (they ALL shuttle you to their hotel; by the way, this saves on tolls too!) and take daily shuttle buses from there (they go as far as the Cape). If you like that type of a vacation, you will not need to rent anything. 2: going outside the bounds of Disney/resorts: you will need a car. Public transportation is bad, at best. Be very careful though: people there have a short fuse and will sue you over almost nothing. On top of that, they are all armed. I'd rent a car and visit some of the beautiful springs around there. Just outside Orlando, nature is just breathtaking. Jane. |

First of all I've lived in Florida for 20 years and have travelled throughout the state. I've lived in St. Pete w/o a car. Moderator cut: removed personal attack
