Thought I would post the websites for all the candidates in case posters wanted to review the candidates policies before making their decisions. Please state why the candidate would be best for Central Florida?

John McCain 2008 - John McCain for President

Welcome to Obama for America

Ralph Nader for President in 2008

Welcome | Bob Barr for President of the United States (http://www.bobbarr2008.com/splash/video/?s0618 - broken link)

I think this topic is OK for now because of the visits from the candidates this weekend but please beware that if this topic turns controversial that it will have to be moved to the 2008 Election Forum.

Here are the rules regarding this:
All posts unrelated to local matters will be deleted or moved. Threads dealing with controversial topics that often degenerate into flame wars, such as politics or religion, may be moved, closed, or deleted by moderators at their discretion without any warning to the participants.

Thanks!

Since they are visiting this weekend I thought it would be a good topic. I figured it could bring up questions of what is important to Central Florida voters.

Seems like McCain is the clear favorite so far. Any opinions why?

Oddly enough the JAX forum crowd is going for Obama. The political views (general views actually) seem to be the inverse of the actual areas. I want to do a poll for my area.

Moderator cut: .. Florida belongs to McCain, although I'm not voting for him, and no I'm not Black or latino. I will give Barack Obama a chance.

In my opinion some of the biggest issues facing Central Florida are low wages, loss of jobs, nothing being done to attract more quality jobs, lack of public transportation, and a lack of a diversified economy. Most of these issues have been around for a long time, however in the 90's and 80's they were managable because the standard of living was very affordable, that is no longer the case.

All you hear about is Obama ( TV, radio, internet) but I think when the silent majority comes out and votes McCain will get alot more votes than people think.
