I am moving down to central Florida from NYC in the coming weeks and am currently looking for a single family home in a gated community. ( 3br/2.5 baths) My budget is in the low 200s. I know that there are probably hundreds of communities down there but any help is appreciated.

I seen one in Wedgefield that would be in your range and gated I forget the name sorry.
You will however have trouble finding houses in that range in a gated community, pretty slim pickings unless you run into a seller just wanting out. |

Not to be cynical, but just about the only place you will find a gated community in the low 200s would probably be in the Lee Vista area. However, you will be living on an old bombing range where they recently discovered that there were still bombs in the ground.

I am single man, 38 yrs old, one child, 11yrs old, that will visit on the weekend. My work location will be in the vicinty of Conroy rd and Vineland rd. I guess what I'm really asking is for info on a home in a nice community setting. Something on a coul-de sac would be nice. I have seen a multitude of homes on the web in the Orlando area and from reading all of the posts on this board and having a friend that lives in the Windermere area I know where all of the nice areas are. I am a person that grew up in the concrete jungle of NYC and really looking forward to finding a home in area with a lot of palm trees, manicured grass and some-what of a tropical feel. I know that sounds a little weird but those on this bulletin board from New York City know what I am talking about. Thanks. |

There are several neighborhoods you could choose from that are gated and in your price range actually. Closer to where you will be working there is The Preserve at the Lakes of Windermere and Wesmere in Ocoee. If you wanted to go out a little further to the East side there are MANY communities throughout the waterford lakes and Avalon Park communities with gated neighborhoods and homes in the high 100's and low 200's.
If you were also considering townhomes as well there are many great options out there now even in new construction. |
