Just wondering about the weather next week (move, event)

anyone local know what i should expect? i tried checking online and it says storming every single day 10 days straight, i'm sure that's impossible. we're going there for a week for disney and was just wondering. we arrive Aug. 8.

It will be hot during the day, muggy, and thunderstorms will be likely every afternoon. That is summer weather in Florida. The storms usually last only a couple of hours though.

Storms every day is very possible and most likely actually. The storms systems usually roll in the mid afternoon and last up to a few hours. This is very normal for summer's here in Florida. Make sure to take a poncho with you and plan your schedule with the forecast in mind.

Get to the parks just before it opens. Get ready to roll and have a game plan on which attractions to hit. When it starts to rain, head for the inside shows/rides.

Unfortunately, it's true. Welcome to SummerTime in Florida....our rainy season. Most of the time the showers don't roll in until the middle of the afternoon so don't sleep in. Make the most of your mornings.

Believe me, you will be thankful for the afternoon rain - you will be praying for the clouds to cover the blazing sun. A lot of times, it will look like it is going to storm and rain heavily, but then the clouds will just pass over. It doesn't rain in all areas everyday, even though storms are forecasted. If it does rain, it is usually for a very short period of time and you can take shelter and then get back to what you were doing. I don't even plan my day around the stormy forecast anymore - the weather is too spontaneous here. You will be fine! I think the heat will get to you more than the rain, though!

Ron, I agree with the comments made ... my observations of a typical day here:

You'll wake up to a beautiful morning (like now) with temps in the 70's, clear skies ... just beautiful.

The morning will be sunny and get progressively warmer to hot as you approach noon time and early afternoon.

You'll watch the clouds approaching from the east and the west as the air moves in from each coastline during the course of the early afternoon.

When the east and west air meets (typically right over my head LOL), you get a refreshing rain, which can be quite agressive, along with the typical thunder and lightning. This generally starts between 2:30 - 5:00pm. (not a good time to be on the road, by the way)

When the rain is done, you'll usually find a beautiful evening with the air cleared and the sun back out and the temperature refreshingly 10+ degrees cooler.

So, can you guess when my siesta time is? LOL Yep, I hit the road running early am ... usually in the pool around noon to cool off then take care of the inside stuff during the afternoon shower and get ready for the evening!

You read right it`s summer here in Florida, the rain is not a all day event. Rain normally comes in the afternoon but not all areas get rain it`s hit and miss but I would count on it in the later part of the day.

The heat will be more of an issue then the rain and the chances of sunburn, make sure you use a good sunscreen or you wont be doing much the next day.
