Default Job/Career fair question

It's kind of a lame question, but I figured somebody from the Orlando area might have an opinion on this. I will be moving to the Orlando area in the next month or so and I noticed that there are a few job fairs the first week of February. I can't make both of them because I can't take that many days off from work, but I think it might be a good idea to hit one of them. One of the fairs is sponsored by the Orlando Sentinel and the other by Monster.com. Anybody have any thoughts on which might be the best to go to? I am an IT guy, mostly network side of things.

Nada_III is an unknown quantity at this point
i'm in I.T. as well (network admin). your best bet is to hook up with an agency and become their consultant. i've been with Robert Half for many years and they were able to get me temp work. clue: take every offer they give you and you will be on the top of their list.

i was lucky to get a permanent offer from one of the temp work i was doing (downtown disney). but unfortunately, the company eventually outsourced their I.T. division. my position was dissolved and i accepted the same position as a consultant.

programming jobs or any tech jobs will always be temporary. most of the I.T. industry is outsourceable. if you want a permanent position, you may consider going into management in this field.

Thanks for the info Alex. I've got my resume out to a ton of different sites and I've been looking at positions daily. I've noted some of the agencies that have the most positions that match my skills and I've sent my resumes to them. My problem is that I've been in a management position for the past three years, although I'm the only person taking care of technology work, so I think a lot of companies see my resume and get scared off.

I'm guessing I need to scale down the job description for my current position as I am absolutely more concerned about nailing down a technical position than a management position.

I think I actually sent my resume to Robert Half, maybe I need to give them a follow up call?

moonbeam is on a distinguished road
Default Tone it down...suggestion, yes.

They don't appreciate intelligence here. You may steal someone else's job.
Also you have to learn to keep your mouth shut. You can't be yourself. Don't ask questions. There is always someone else waiting to take your job. Don't ever forget that. You are lucky to just have a job here! Get these things straight.
This place is mindboggling. It will strip you of your dignity. You will not get the pay you were used to, nor the respect (right to work state so they can fire you at a moment's notice without a reason).
I'm not going down with the ship. moonbeam
