Been living in SoFla for about two years now and have never been to Disney. I pretty much care only about rollercoasters, so I usually go to either IOA or Busch Gardens.

We go to the Disney parks at least once a week. Universal (have an annual pass there) a few times a year. Usually for Mardi Gras concerts in the spring, Halloween Horror Nights in the fall and Grinchmas in the winter. Also if something new opens like The Simpsons ride. Sea World when someone gives us an extra pass. Discovery Cove was great and I want to go again soon. Bush Gardens I have not been to in years but keep wanting to go. Hopefully before the new company that owns it gives up the parks! I still want to see Cypress Gardens maybe for Christmas.

I have no idea why anyone would move to Orlando if they had no interest in theme parks, golf or for work at Disney or Lockheed.

We go maybe a few times a year, to allow DW to get her "disney fix". We also go when friends come, an obligation, I suppose, which comes with living here. The one caveat though is we try to go in the offseason when the crowds are much thinner, and the waits are consequently much shorter, than in the summer months.

We lived in Florida, about 35 minutes from the parks for a year, and then moved back to NJ. We got the season passes, and we went... every other weekend! We never got tired of it, and sometimes would go just for dinner, or fireworks, or just to go on a ride or two! Other times we would go for the day, or for special events, or to take family members there. If we would have stayed in Florida, we would probably be there now!

Thanks! I was thinking that we probably would go a lot. But I wasn't sure. I am a big Disney person, but sometimes once you have the opportunity to go as often as you like you don't. Somehow it loses it magic. I'm glad to know that it doesn't. Like I said, I would not move there just for that. And most likely we will end up in whichever city my husband can find a job in. But it sure would be nice to be close enough to enjoy Disney as much as we want. It would be nice to be able to just head over and ride a favorite ride or see a new show or something. Or spend a day and take the time to do things you never had time when you were on a regular week long vacation.

I enjoy the hotels and experiencing the whole package too though. How many of you still actually vacation there? Like make a reservation and plan out the dining and spend a week at Disney?

I live about an hour from disney and if I had the money I would get annual passes. If I could I would go there just for the restaurants. You don't have to pay parking if you have an annual pass. I go to Disney probably 5 times a year. I love it.

I don't go as much anymore...after a while it a little tiresome to deal with the commando parents, screaming kiddies and crowds in general. I will go to the Food & Wine Festival in November and will do the Christmas decorations in December. Other than that...it's MAYBE once a month but more like once every few months. It definately helps to have an AP so you don't have to pay parking each time.

My wife and I (and friends) go practically every weekend and some nights for dinner! We have PAPs and it has paid for itself 50 X over and we've only been passholders for a little more than 6 months!

We're also annual passholders for Seaworld, Universal/IOA, as well as Busch.
But don't get it twisted......We've probably explored more of Florida than the average indigenous Floridian!

Good times!

I'm down in Miami and have the Disney seasonal passes, the Universal Annual passes and the Busch parks Platinum passes as well.I make it up to the parks anywhere from 12-18 times a year, and during the summer try to do a couple out of state parks like Busch Gardens in Virginia and Cedar Point.I know my 5 year plan includes moving to the Orlando area, because I have to cause I know if I'm not the number 1 theme park junkie in South Florida,I know I'm in the top 3 at least.Even if I'm not in the parks I know what's going on at basically every park out there by following several web sites on a daily basis. If I were to move to Orlando I would figure I would visit at least 2-3 times a week, even if one is for a couple hours at night.
