Health Care Jobs in Orlando Area
Hello everyone Just wanted to stop by and see if anyone could give me some info on health care jobs in the area? Are they plentiful and how is the pay? I plan on moving to the Orlando area next year sometime. I have just recently graduated with my Associates Degree in Science and I am also a Certified Surgical Technologist. Any info will be helpful and appreciated. Thanks

I work for Orlando Health (formerly Orlando Regional Healthcare) and the organization always seems to be hiring. Florida Hospital and HealthCentral are here as well as private practices. Check the newspaper listings online to see what's available.

UCF is adding a medical school around the Lake Nona Area, as well, around that area Nemours is suppose to be building a Children's Hospital and I also think a VA Hospital is suppose to be built, all of this in the next year or so.

I think you will find it a green market. It seems nurses are paid lower than other areas but Im not sure how that translates for other gigs in the field.

I think you have to visit all the hospital websites in Orlando. For a surgical tech, you will have a better chance in a bigger city such as Miami! You will also have better chance with a hospital that has a Level I Trauma Center. I know Florida Hospital is opening up a new wing; so you might want to try that.
Good luck! Be positive!
