Default What's the best family-oriented suburb of Orlando?

At some point, I will be moving my family to the Orlando area. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the best family-oriented suburb of Orlando (low crime, community atmosphere, good schools, ect.). I will most likely be working out of my home so commute is a non-issue. I have heard some good things about Lake Mary...any suggestions?

Oviedo and Lake Mary would be your best choice.

Winter Garden looks nice along Vineland. Mount Dora is close to Orlando not far.
Safe area. Lake County is only 45 minutes and a little safer than living in Orlando.
Clermont is also a nice area. Parts of Winter Park are nice.

I've lived in Lake Mary for 13 years, and my family and I enjoy it very much! We love the community, schools, and it's close to everything we need!

If you're looking for a well rooted family oriented community than look at the local high school because that's what the communities revolve around. That being said, I will say Altamonte/Wekiwa/Sweetwater (Lake Brantley), Lake Mary/Heathrow (Lake Mary), Oviedo (Oviedo), Winter Park (Winter Park), Orange City (Spruce Creek H.S.), and I heard some the Brevard communities are very good (Eua Gallie and Astronaught High). Hope this helps.
