Default Places near Orlando

What are some nice cities around Orlando? I've considered moving to Orlando but they have a bit too much crime. So what are some commutable, nice nearby cities that don't seem to be declining? Thanks!

You might look at Lake Mary or Oviedo. Even east Orlando is an excellent safe area - Waterford Lakes, Lake Nona, etc. Not all of Orlando is bad by any means. I lived in Seminole County before moving to Orlando and there was much more crime in the surrounding neighborhoods there than here in the Lake Nona area of Orlando where I currently live.

Depending on your income...Windermere is wonderful. I lived there for 13 years. It is very expensive though. Clermont(Lake County) is nice and less expensive. It is still commutable to Orlando. Ocoee or Metrowest (Orange County) are also good bets. The Orlando area is a nice place to live. There are a lot of things to do and a lot of jobs. The crime is only bad in bad areas.
