Well Cookie 214, did you eventually move to Solivita after all the advise you received? Just curious.

Here we go! People always taking about, race (racial groups), traffic(flipping finger), language(spanish), Waltmart. This country was developed by immigrants (Italian, Polish, Greeks, Chinese, Latinos, etc.), I had traveled several States and few countries and if you do something stupid in the road, well they will give you more than a finger. (so drive smart and drive safe), The official language of the U.S. is what? none yet and if any will be English and guess what other? Spanish! but no...the beauty of this great nation relies on its great people...people from all over the globe that comes to this country for whatever the motives are... by the way..why so many spanish speaking people in Waltmart? well, simple.. First an expert notice the need to make $$$$ in the form of a great store that offer's everything that the community needs and welling to invest because is a sure and safe area....I might add..Second the town/city and its community never (when asked) say no..don't build it here...( we don't want these spanish people taking over????) its more like $$$$$ the city/town needs the money$$$, so, to finish...I am writing because I am planning to move to FL. Coming from Chicago the most important fact about Chicago and Florida share's; its is diversity...Can we all be happy!

The only redeeming quality of Wal-Mart is that they do have low prices and a lot of employees. However, the costs to our nation and the fact that employee paychecks are kept very low are much more problematic than the few dollars saved. The time wasted waiting in line ruins any savings I would have made. There are plenty of books and websites that fully discuss the problems that Wal-Mart brings, and I absolutely refuse to shop there unless I have to. There is also a growing hypocrisy - the poor love to fight for the 'little guys' but are willing to give the 'little guy' stores the finger if it saves them a buck. Look at the lack of success of the many other mom and pop stores in an area once one Wal-Mart moves in. Hopes of one day making a decent salary as a Wal-Mart employee remains only a dream. Wal-Mart is more like a prison for the poor than a welcome center. Read a few books on the effect Wal-Mart has on our economy.. here's a quote from Fortune:
"The $15 billion in goods that Wal-Mart and its suppliers imported from China in 2003, meanwhile, accounted for nearly 11% of the U.S. total--contributing, some economists argue, to further erosion of U.S. wages."
That's a hard price to pay for saving a couple dollars, which could have been saved by shopping elsewhere and not buying a pack of cigarettes or 12-pack of Coke.

Solivita is a nice area
Alot of pople dont like the Poinciana are for two reasons. There are alot of vacation homes there which were zoned for short term rental, and when they built the area they didnt put the infrastructure in for big shopping centers, in addition if you need to get anywhere it can be a 20-30 min drive espfor Solivita to get just to 192.
On the flip side, particularly for Solivita the house designs are nice and the neighbourhood is nice, alot of curb appeal.
I actually visited a property that my office has for sale in Solivita and to be honest i was very impressed. Very well maintained, nice floor plan and gorgeous courtyard. It really is a gem and i actually know the owner who is selling it aswell.
