I would like to see the statistics on this..... have you seen the 100 least safe cities list? Orlando is 39 and Sanford is 74 but not one osceola county city is on the list. Also, have you heard about all the murders in Orlando??? You can't even compare numbers in that catagory with Kissimmee or any other Osceola County city.
I enjoy Kissimmee and the diversity of it and I think that it is a great place to raise children. I was raised here and will raise my children here. All towns have there bad areas and so does Kissimmee but in comparision to Orange County I think we are doing alright.

Crime happens everywhere...Kissimmee does have alot of crime , no where near the amount that Orlando has...Kissimmee is a very busy little city..Just remember that alot of the touristy things to do are right in Kissimmee..and that in its self can bring out the ciminal element...
I have seen a increase in crime in Poinciana but now it has been Controlled thanks to Our Wonderful Sheriif grady Judd ( polk County SIde) we have a great citizen patrol here ..and the police drive around to scare the criminals back to Orlando!

I can't believe my eyes!
I couldn't believe this posts, are you all crazy? I happen to be a Poinciana resident, it is beautiful here, yes I am hispanic but MOST people speak english here and until I read this posts I had no idea there where "race" issues in our area, we feel so welcome here, so do our children, people (of all colors) say goodmorning and good evening, we know our neighbors and they are good people!this is a community of families that work hard and bought their homes and thus want the best for our kids, there is rif raf everywhere but our experience here in poinciana is nothing short of wonderful, there is crime but so far mostly petty theft and as for Polk county, it is better than Osceola in my opinion, we have recycling, our county is bigger therefore has more funds, our streets are clean and I am yet to see an ilegal alien or a converted garage, our community association keeps everything beautiful by citating homeowners with flashy senses of style, Solivita is beautiful, it is a gated community, very classy, you would love it, it would be a shame if you decide not to move to this wonderful area by the opinions of a couple of racist fools, If you want a diverse, thriving community where you can enjoy wonderful weather, blue skies, clean air and nature at it's best come to Poinciana Florida (But DO buy a water filter because that is the one thing that truly sucks).

That's my experience also
Enjoyed reading your reply. Do you live in Solivita? We just purchased there, our home isn't built yet. I've read so many horror stories about the crime in the area & the rude hispanic people. I am not hispanic. Everytime I visited (true they were only for 2-3 days at a time) I had not witnessed any problems, and every hispanic, (or PR as some people would say)I have delt with or had passed in the street or supermarket were very polite. So in spite of the warnings I purchesed in Polk County/Solivita. Only time will tell if I had made the right decission.

RosaFrank Your right about one thing POLK is better then Osceola...Where we live we love it, but the Traffic is getting out of control...and I do see crime in parts of the neighborhood Grafiti was written on a new house and in the street by Some PR Kids that were mad that their Friend was KILLED for no "apperent" reason...( I m not being RACIST im stating FACTS~)
Also the Assoiciation is not that great..Sure they give citations but never follow thru..
Not sure how long you have lived here but i have been here 9yrs and i have seen a steady decline in the things that The Association does and does'nt want to do...
Your Hispanic so you don't run into a problem when you go to walmart in poinciana with the spanish employees..I don;t shop there anymore because of the Rudeness..( speaking over the loud speaker in spanish? umm not everyone is spanish! or can speak it or understand it)

Hunters Creek/Loop Area
We live in the Hunters Creek/Loop Area of Kissimmee and I think its really nice and getting better. I'll admit some parts of Kissimmee seem sketchy to me but this particular area has so many neat new stores and restaurants and new ones coming on line all the time - plus our neighborhood has a wonderful HOA, the yards are beautiful and well-kept. We couldn't find anything decent/safe/newer in Orlando in our price range (which was around $380K) so Kissimmee worked out really well for us to get a beautiful, big newer home with a pool. We do plan to move away for another job opportunity but it's not because we haven't liked this part of Kissimmee.
