Post The best public high schools in Orlando

I am looking for good public high schools in the orlando, oviedo area. I will be relocating in a few months and i really need to find a good h.s for my daughter who has a 90.00 avg and is an honors student here in n.y. She's in a good school here and i would not want to remove her from this school and put her in a horrible school in fl. Anyone kind enough to respond i would like to thank you in advance.

Oviedo H.S. is pretty good school from everything I've heard. Played them in alot of sports during my high school days so I'm stopping short of fully endorsing them but it is a very good school from what I hear.

Hagerty and Oviedo have the highest stats and even Winter Springs are all highly rated. Further away from Oviedo area you have Lake Brantly or Lake Mary high which are also highly rated.

To check out school accountability reports check out School Accountability Report and for parent comments and more school info try Great Schools - Public and Private School Ratings, Reviews and Parent Community

Each of these schools also have their own websites where you can get their phone numbers, talking to and maybe taking a tour of these schools is always recommended to see which you would be most comfortable having your daughter attend.

After you figure out what schools you desire, just make sure you live in their zone!

We are also from NY and considering a relocation to Orlando. We are apprehensive because of the schools. Our children are younger but we are curious to know if you, Canarsie girl, found out any more about the schools and high schools?

The ratings in order are :
18 Oveido
33 Winter Park
97 and a tie for third with Timber Creek, Olympia and Dr. Phillips.
These are based out of the 512 high schools in the state. All others in the area fall above that 100 mark.
