Default Private school recommendation -metro West/valencia College

Hi
My family is looking at relocating from England in the next few weeks and would like to know of recommended High Schools in the area other than Olympia High, possibly private or if anyone has feedback about Valencia West Campus for dual High School enrolment
Thanks

Orange County - Winter Park High
Seminole County - Lake Mary or Lake Brantley High

These are some of the best high schools in the area. If you are interested in the IB (International Baccalaureate) program...you would need to look into Winter Park High, Cypress Creek High in Orange County (there may be other schools that offer the IB program but I know these two do) and Seminole High in Seminole County.

These are NOT private schools but public high schools. If you are interested in private high schools I would suggest Lake Highland Prep in downtown Orlando or Trinity Prep in Winter Park. They have rigorous academic requirements.

My son did dual enrollment at Seminole Community College in Lake Mary - I don't know anything about the program at Valencia.

Good Luck!

Just how difficult is it to get into Lake Highland and Trinity Prep ? We are from the northeast and have many private schools which state they are "highly selective" but all that really means is if you have the $$ you get in

Pay the money, and you're in. Both are very good private schools. Last I heard, Lake Highland was running about $20,000 / year. That information is a few years old.

Other good schools in Seminole - Winter Springs High and Oviedo High; in that order.

In Orange County, Dr. Philips High is also good.

West Orange High school is nice as well. It is located on the Ocoee side of Windermere.

Foundation Academy in Winter Garden is excellent (and much better pick over West Orange High School).

That's my two cents!
