Sanford-MIDWAY section-Seminole County need your opinion PLEASE (Orlando, Lake Mary: renting, houses)

Don't feel bad for me.... Like I said, I already sold and doubled my money in Sanford. I know about Sanford. I lived there for 2 1/2 years and worked there for 8... I'm simply saying if you base everything on "reputation" you're going to pass up some very good opportunities...

'Sanford Stigma'??? I lived a mile from Lake Mary and surprisingly the flowers didn't start to bloom and the sun start to shine only after I crossed the town line..... I'm saying Sanford has plenty of decent areas for those willing to look...

I lived in Winter Springs the last year and oddly enough I've seen the same thing you describe as I cross from Winter Springs into Casselberry and back..... I'm not sure which way you take from Lake Mary to Sanford, but I can tell you, much like Winter Springs and Casselberry, that there's a simple way around all of this..... DON'T DRIVE THAT WAY!!!

Tell me what schools suck as far as you know??? Kids have drugs in Brantley as well. Nothing novel about that. Teachers are verbally attacked in schools all across Florida and schools in other states in decent areas..

Sanford probably contains the most dangerous two areas in Seminole (13th street and Midway), but Sanford is a pretty large town with plenty of new housing going up and plenty of opportunity as well.

You know Sanford is rough for the most part....There are very few areas that are OK. People who have been here a while know it too.

Nothing, Did you misread my tone?? If anything I was attempting to cordially disagree with you while making sure to let Lisa understand I didn't appreciate her attitude of "attack the person, not the post".....

As far as I'm concerned, we're cool. I typically agree with you and as a whole agree with you on how you feel about Florida. FWIW, I don't live in Winter Springs anymore either...... I moved to Virginia...

I sold because I was anticipating moving out of state and felt the real estate market had peaked (which it had in ALL of Florida, not some localized Sanford phenomenon)....

Anyway, I'm simply offering my experience based on having lived there. People can take that for what it's worth and factor in those who know a friend of a friend of a sheriff that spends a lot of time on 13th street or in the Midway area which must mean the entirety of Sanford is a war zone....

I don't need to prove anything. I lived it and it isn't the blight and the endless sprawl of poverty and crime that you all would apparrently like to believe...

Ohhhhhhhh... my bad here. I thought I was being rude or something. I guess posts can be deceiving, as you cannot tell what tone people are using.

Hey, Winter Springs is an older area, but it is VERY safe and very family oriented. I don't like it because every Central FL cop that grads from Police Academy goes to Winter Springs for training. I have been pulled over for not putting a BLINKER to get into my driveway in WS (late at night). All the fresh out of training cops want to ticket people for EVERYTHING .... even spitting (littering) and for breathing too much. These cops are a pain.

But WS is nice.... how did you end up in VA?? One of my former co-workers moved to Fall Church as she got a good deal on a house there and a GREAT-paying job. She is raking in $40,000 more a year than she did in Orlando!! I like VA... it is nice.

I actually moved to the Northern Shenandoah Valley in Stephens City just south of Winchester all of two weeks ago.... Like you I had a need to get out of Florida. Just not for me (not saying it isn't for some though... gotta cover my **** on these boards these days... )

If you want a nice lot I saw one off of mansion blvd near the mansion of debary. Its one exit up north from sanford. Very nice area. Lots woods and parks.

I was born (not raised) in Sanford. I moved back in 2000 and stayed until 2004. I lived in a 5000 sq. ft. home on three acres. Nice. Only problem was that I would have people coming to my door asking for money and several times I had people driving up while I mowed my grass asking if I wanted to buy crack. Beer bottles and garbage on my lawn every morning, breakins, vandalism, you name it. I was glad to escape.

Wondering where these three acres are.... Completely different experience from mine.
