We have gangs and thugs roaming the beautiful Metro West Area of Orlando at night! I can't even go show property at night for fear of being robbed or worse!
Deltona, a city in nearby Volusia county is having very serious issues with gangs! It was all over the TV last weekend! It makes me sick!
However, there are still many nice places to live in Central Florida.

You know, I GREW UP in a house in Metro West and we moved to Lake Mary because it was sooooooooo dangerous. One of the big reasons why MetroWest became hell is because they:
1. Built that Walmart on the corner of MetroWest Blvd and Kikrman and that brought out every scum bucket, drug dealer, pedophile, and robber from Raleigh Street and Pine Hills down there.
2. The apt complexes in MetroWest let 15 people live in a 1/1 apt. These guys prowl around the parkinglos all day long, harassing women and breaking into cars.
3. MetroWest has some ghetto people from Kirkman coming in to rob people too. It is not just Pine Hills (aka. Crime Hills) it is also Kirkman that has become a ghetto too!! I lived on Kirkman back in 1994 and it was all familes, very safe and clean. Now it is a ghetto like Semoran blvd or Goldenrod.
I am sad to hear Deltona has become gangland. It was safe in 2004 when we almost moved there. You know, Deltona is a major gathering point for illegal aliens and as you can expect, the illegal gangs moved in with the illegals.
Why can't we just secure the dangoned border??

How hard is that??

Ha, I knew Brazilians that were pulling guns on people's faces left and right, robbing them in Oakridge. They were some of my clients when I worked in the legal dept in orlando. And of course, they were ALL here ILLEGALLY! But hey, why should they leave if they have a chance of getting an amnesty from the Senate and Presidente Jorge Busho?

It is nice that YOU are ready to die. If I had to luve in Orlando (which I don't) I would rather have gun and die but at least take a bastard criminal with me. I would fight to the bitter end to protect my life... there is no way I would be some helpless victim out there. Crackhead wants to kill me... well, he will have to fight me and my gun first!! At least I would help Orlando reduce crime by 1 less crackhead.
Most people in Orlando just die in the hands of some criminals. Mind you, if you are LUCKY you will just die, but in Orlando most of the dead ones we see are usually sexually assaulted first then they die..... Yeah but if you want to live in Orlando, then you HAVE TO BE PREPARED TO DIE, just as this poster is ready to die himself. Your life is worth about $12 worth of crack cocaine to some moron down there. I would fight to death first if someone wnated to kill me.
No wonder I left Orlando.... why should I be ready to die at a moment's notice just so I can live in orlando. It makes no sense, man. And I lived in a good area too (Lake Mary) but it is having to work in orlando that causes the danger/threat level to go up.

Millenia used to be nice until it got trashed out being that it's close to Americana and OBT.
More and more this city is becoming a mix of Los Angeles and Miami.

Hey man, take my word for it.... 12 years just in MetroWest... it has become a piece of Hell on earth. I am not even sure what is worse... Kirkman road or Semoran Blvd.... Kirkman has become an urban-sprawled ghetto by all means.

They interviewed residents who contributed to paying the off duty and retired police, and they said it was going to continue to the end of the year and then they will decide from there if they will continue to do it.

I think it was publicity that brought crime down. Remember, just because the number of "incidents" has gone down doesn't mean the crime rate has gone down. They can count certain crimes as "incidents" and on other times not count it. Keep in mind we had a mini-scandal a while back where city cops were being asked to write crime reports and say the crime happened in the county area (unincorporated) to make the city crime stats look better.
So don't trust these things too much.... look around and get a feel for the danger level in your area.
