I just moved to the Altamonte Springs area from New Jersey. Just wanted to say hi and see if anyone had any good tips on restaurants/nightlife in and around my new area.
Thanks! |

If you are referring to just Altamonte there is just about every and any chain restaurant you can think of there. But if you want mom and pops or ethnic restaurants than here's a short list:
Pizza Joint: There's a really good NY style Pizza joint on the corner of 434 and Montgomery in the same plaza as the LA Fitness. (Sorry I forget the name) Sushi: Saikyo on 434 near Douglas and Hana by the mall. Kobe is also really popular for Tepan and Sushi and there are two in Altamonte but the one on 436 is most popular. Greek and Burrito joint: Good restaraunt by the Albertson on 434 and Montgomery. Again I forget the name, there's also a really good burrito place there. Indian: Kohinoor on 436 As far as nightlife there is no real club scene there but there are some bars that locals hang out at. Here's a list of places to hang out: Crane's Roost Park, always alot of foot traffic with people walking around. If you're a runner this may be a good way to meet people. There are also alot of free concerts and weekend festivals there. Borders Bookstore on corner of 434/436. You may be able to strike up a casual conversation there. Cooter Browns-Pool hall that alot of locals frequent on Wed and Thurs night for good drink specials. Alehouse-the place is a madhouse on Thursday nights and is probaly your best bet for meeting people. There are alot of cops there so be careful. Winghouse-filled with football fans and softball league types. Altamonte Mall Cineplex- good place to see a movie. Other than that you really have to go downtown for nightlife. Hope this helps and welcome to Altamonte! |

Welcome to Altamonte.....there always seems to be something going on there. If you don't find it there, you are in striking distance to just about everything else.
Along with what Crane's Rooster has listed, Uptown Altamonte is also worth checking out. CR...are you talking about the Ale House there are 436 by Eastmonte Drive? I've only been in that one once. |

Yes that one. On a Thursday night it's like going to high school reunion if you grew up in that area.

Try Citywalk. Not to be personal, but what type of crowd/age/music are you looking for? Maybe then I can point you in a better direction. There's tons to do here!

You can try some of the bars and clubs downtown. There are a ton of them with every kind of music imaginable. I know this is going to get ppl going, but there is a ladies night almost every night where ladies get in free and drink free. There are so many places downtown, if you don't like one, walk to the next!
