With so many stores closing nowadays I would give them a call before going just in case.
They are in the process of moving to another location. I went by there one day and the place was a mess.

my boyfriend and i want to move there. We came down in nov 2008. We loved it because it was so warm. I have health problems in the winter. all i need to be happy is a video store , food store and clothing store. Is there alot of bars , crime and drugs there. It looked nice and clean. also do they have yard sales and thift shops there? I would like to have some pen-pals from there too. How are the high school and do they have a libaray.

Crime is lower than the national average. I've never had any problems in that area. I live in a northern suburb of Orlando. Crime is a bit higher in Kissimmee and in the more urban neighborhoods. Drugs are a problem, as in any other US city. There are tons of malls, outlets, thrift stores and the yard sales go year-round, Thurs thru Sunday, usually. There are pubs and bars in every town, but I don't go to them, so I can't comment on how good they are. Downtown Orlando has many restaurants/bars "night spots".

I prefer living north of Orlando, away from the tourist traps. Kissimmee gets lots of traffic and tourists.

Kissimmee schools are ranked among the worst in the US. You'd have to live in Seminole County for a decent school, and even then it's no comparison to northern schools. There is a public library system throughout Central Florida.

Good luck with your move!

Did you know that the library can pull any book from any other library anywhere in the country? They can request the book and have it sent to our library completely free of charge. Our library system is one of the best, if not the best in the world. I am finding less reasons to buy books anymore.

To anyone who may be interested; I have a quit a bit of Stephen King novels as well as many other authors. I have fiction, self-help, medical books and some classic authors and stories. My wife passed away recently, these books belonged to her and I want to sell these books. Please no phone calls after 9:00 PM.
