What is the better city for a good freelance web designer/developer?
Is there a job market in Orlando for this kind of work?
Is the market substantially better than Atlanta?

Atlanta is a much better option. Larger city with a larger business community.

I agree with DailyJournalist. Unless you set up a job beforehand or get hired on by one of the resorts, you could be stuck without finding a job at all. You could try the local classified online from both cities as well to get more of a job availability comparison and cost of living comparison.

If you want to be a Freelance Web Designer, it doesn't really matter where you live. I would look at the number of businesses and the growing or shrinking number of businesses in both cities. I'd honestly prefer to live in Orlando, I really didn't like Atlanta (granted I only spent a couple days there, so my impression is limited).

The advantage of basing out of Orlando is that you can also reach out into Tampa for work. That said, there are a lot of freelancers around here already, and the law of supply and demand is at work. People are working for peanuts, because if they don't agree to a low-ball amount, there's somebody else in the wings.

Hi There:

I own a web design company in peachtree city, which is south of atlanta. I love living and working in Atlanta. I also vacation a lot to Orlando and have wondered how easy or hard it would be to get jobs there. I suppose you could try marketing yourself in both cities before you move and see in which ones you get more traction.

If you are interested, my company is Web4u Web Design

Definately Atlanta. Visited both ORL and ATL many times and hands down, Atlanta gets my choice. Orlando is nice for the parks, but to live, I haven't heard many positive things from co-workers.

Orlando is a nice place to visit, but for me, not a nice place to live. Sure there are nice areas, but overall, it's a vacation destination, not really a place most people would call home, imo.
