Default Screened lanai

Hello all!
I'm new to the forum (and to Orlando). I'm in the process of negotiating to buy a house in Orlando. I'm thinking of installing a screened lanai (probably with roof as well) with the total area of 20' x 15'. I was wondering if anyone can give me an very rough idea of the price need for such installation? (actually I'm comparing two houses, one with screened lanai and one without, so such information will be very helpful for my decision).
Thanks a lot in advance.

why don't you just call a few places, tell them what you want and ask for a quote

Rough Estimate??? Well, in '03 my wife and I installed a 12'x10' screened porch with a sound muffling aluminum roof (ie. didn't extend out an existing roof)... It cost about $3400...... I'd imagine yours would be around $6000 but can't say for sure....

On top of that, one tip to remember: Just because you buy a house for $250,000 and then add on a $6000 screened porch does NOT make your house value suddenly go up to $256,000 .... In fact it usually will only go up a small fraction of what you paid for the porch... Same goes for pools for some reason.....

VAFury: Thanks a lot for your information. Yes, I understand that adding the screened porch doesn't mean value of the house will be increased by the same amount. The main purpose is to have more space.

In 2006 we added an irregularly shaped lanai with insulated roofing and fans - the area was around 20x14 and it cost us a little over 6K. However, ours was not framed and screened - it is open to the pool area. Obviously framing and screening would add extra $$.

Give A-Screen a call. (407) 831-1811. Many in my neighborhood use them for repairs.

$25/square foot should be a conservative estimate. There are plenty of folks who do this...
