Default Good place for UCF/retirement

Hey,

Finally done with the Active Duty Air Force in Montana and I'll be moving back down to Orlando after a good 4 years. While I have a decent memory of the area, I'm trying to find a good place that will meet the following:

1. Close to UCF: For the next 3 years my main job will be going to school so I need something close for me to drive back and forth from UCF approx 4 days a week.

2. Good place to retire: My parents will eventually move down and take over the house. I need somewhere that will be nice for them, close enough to the city, but not too too close.

3. Quickish access to Universal/Disney: To make some side money I'll probably go back to working for the parks and so I'll need to be able to get to them in approx half an hour.

4. Quickish access to Melbourne: I'll be doing my one weekend a month, 2 weeks and year there so a non-2-hour trip would be nice

So far we have it down to Union Park (close to the city and UCF), Oviedo(nice place that's close to UCF) , and Winter Park (Just a nice place . Thoughts?

Thanks in advance for all your help, I look forward to moving home.

- Glitch

Oviedo or Winter Springs would be your best choices.

Depends on where you are in Union Park, but it is not the nicest area. I would not suggest most places north of Lake Underhill or south of University west of Rouse or East of Chickasaw. In some places those boundries are off, but Oviedo by UCF (Carillon) and Winter Park are much nicer options.

Welcome back to Orlando, and thanks for serving!

Depends on your Price range, but Oviedo would be great for reasons 1 and 2, and ok for 2 and 4.

Your best bet would be Lake Nona and Lake Hart area for all 4, Easy drive to UCF via 417, Quick access to Melbourne via 528 and I-95, far enough away from downtown for retiree and a nice quite area with plenty to do close by, and you can also take the 417 and be at disney in about 30 mins or less.
