Default property tax relief?

What is going on with the FL legislation about the decline of property taxes and increasing the sales tax 2.5%?
I know the Gov. was pushing this but did it pass? Also, I think the back up plan was to increase the homestead exemption from 25k to 50k.
Also when would it take into effect?
Any thoughts, thanks!

The "update" is that it ain't coming! In fact, I believe the legislature voted to increase property taxes, with an "eye to the future" of perhaps getting some relief to the tax payers.

I applaud Charlie Crist in his pursuit of tax relief. I condemn all of the other bozos in the Florida Senate, and will vote against each and every one of them that I possibly can. Unless that person 100% backs reduction of property taxes, I could care less what else he/she stands for, I'LL VOTE HIM OUT! I will vote for a doped-up hippy or a flaming homosexual so long as he/she/it will lower property taxes.
