Default places near Florida Hospital E. Orlando

HI,
I am going to be moving to Orlando and starting a job primarily based out of Florida Hospital East Orlando (Lake Underhill/Goldenrod) in June. Not sure on buying or renting yet but I want to know if there are any good locations near the Hospital. If I lived downtown would the traffic be bad on the commute. I am looking to spend about $1000-$1500 on a 2+ bed place. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Waterford Lakes would probably be the closest decent place to the Florida Hospital East. You could rent a house in that price range.

If you want to be east of there like DJ said, I would pick Waterford Lakes or Avalon Park.
If you want to be closer to the city I would pick Conway or an area close to there.
Lake Nona may also be a good fit for you and you could drive up Goldenrod to get into work.
Just avoid areas actually on Goldenrod Road or in the Union Park or Azalea Park areas. This is roughly the stretch of Colonial (50) from Semoran (436) to Rouse. Once you go north to about University it gets better and if you are further south around Curry Ford in the Dean to Alafaya area it is also better (this is Cypress Springs/Andover).

Thanks for the help. It seems like there are lots of places available in the Waterford Lakes area to purchase (townhomes). My only concern would be resale in 3-5 yrs since I know this will not be a long term job. I will look into those other locations.

I would tread very carefully if purchasing to live in for only 3-5 years. 5 years I think you will be safe, but 3 is a gamble. The townhomes at Waterford Lakes (Waterford Villas I'm assuming) can actually be purchased with monthly costs less than renting them may be though (I own a property in there).

Being as you are relocating from elsewhere, be sure to at least get to know the area's before buying first so that you are comfortable with your purchase. Renting short term month to month at an apartment complex may be your best bet if you are sure you are purchasing, or you may just be comfortable spending a few days touring the place with a friend and/or an agent that can point out the +'s and -'s of area's.
