Possible move to 32818 zip
Our daughter lives/works in Orlando. She's now renting but wants to own and have us move in with her in a house she found in the Silver Ridge Community. She doesn't want a long comute each day after working 12 hour shifts and has fallen in love with this house. We're a white senior citizen couple, who has no problem with living in a mixed community. I believe however, after driving through this area on Tuesday when the fire was going on, this is mostly a totally black community. We want to enjoy our neighborhood and feel safe. I can not find a crime report for this zip code, so would appriciate any input anyone might have about this issue.
We too like the house, which is exactly what we're looking for.

I would not say that it is a totally Black community, but it is a pretty diverse area. There are parts of 32818 that are better than others. Mainly avoid Silver Star and stay west of Hiawassee. Areas along Clarcona-Ocoee Road are better and so is Ocoee. When I look at this area on a map, it is north of Silver Star but it is not an ideal area as it is pretty close to Silver Star still. There is a lot of crime in this area for the most part.

I want to agree, south of Silver Star, west of Hiawassee is your best bet. The whole zip code is very diverse and in my area people got along with each other very well.
