A friend of mine lives in the southern portion of Poinciana, technically in Polk County (though still a Kissimmee address). Honestly I find the neighborhood to be bizarre - it's basically an open field with rows of identical 2-story homes.
She likes it (though I think it's because she got a very large home considering the money she spent), but it certainly wouldn't be for me. It's very rural where she is, and closer to Haines City than anything else. I wouldn't say that the area seems unsafe necessarily, but when I've been there's always groups of people (mostly teenagers) walking around between the houses...kind of looking shady. Remember too, wherever there's inexpensive homes there's a better chance of less-savory people living around there.

I have lived in Poincaiana 11 yrs now...and yes it has had it share of crime, Gang activity and Murders yes MURDERS...But I don;t find it unsafe, i find that it has become "lost" to big for its britches if you will..Avatar has done nothing to put a good infastructure in here...well little to late at least....with all the sub prime mortgages and then the foreclosures , then the riff raff that rent a house for 3 months and then move its become a cespool..for Pond scum...however..we have the best Sheriff...GRADY JUDD and he has cleaned up ( polk side) around here I don;t see the Punks hanging on the street corner any more..the kid that lived on my street and commited many crimes ..bugulary,grand theft...etc is now in Jail...for a while ..Foreclosed homes are being sold to decent hard working people...people that take pride in the community they live in...but we need more...
All the people that have been foreclosed on are basically gone..back to where ever they came from...
but alas..the Traffic would put any one off!..However there is a light at the end of the tunnel..the toll road will be going up at the end of marigold...there is talks to have a road at southport to connect to the turnpike..and yes FINALLY WE ARE GETTING A MUCH NEEDED HOSPITAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!......
3 yrs ago it was BAD out here....now not so bad.....I was very much down on Poinciana a few yrs ago (you can search my posts about poinciana) ...there were some really rude people out here....like they owned the joint!...they thought they were better then everyone else..they have either left or been stiffled by REAL PEOPLE!

I hope you are joking.
The greater Orlando area has almost 10% unemployment. Jobs are few and far between.

Then apply at the hopitals. With those certifications you have a decent shot at finding work.
