Is Orlando a good city for mixed dating? (Hollywood, Kissimmee: fit in, transplants)

I'm sad at the responses! Now I'm an old married woman so I'm no expert on the dating scene.
Ok...46 isn't that old but still.....
I'm white and I have a black male friend that I hang out with all the time...trust me unless you knew us, you'd think we were married the way we fuss at each other....he's gay so hubby doesn't care......and we don't get any flack or sideways glances at all. We've been welcomed everywhere we've gone.

I hope this situation improves for everyone!

I'm a black man of puerto rican etnicity, I live in NY but visit Orlando yearly, I can say from experience that in most puerto rican families, blacks of African American decent are not looked upon favorably, especially up here in the North East. Each time I go down to Orlando I notice the increasing migration of latinos from the north east; maybe part of the problem is the attitudes, and upbringing from the north east is being brought down south, instead of being checked at the door. But hang in there brother, there still some down to earth latinas out there..

I'm white and my wife is black, We noticed more looks and comments in Seminole County as a whole. Esp. Sanford area.

Other parts of Orlando were cool.

i completely agree...sometimes you have to think its a racial thing, or maybe its an age appearance thing cuz im close to being 30 but could easily look like i am in my young twenties or late teens (i've been carded for being under 18 at universal before hahah that was a hoot!)

I am from NY (Queens) origanally and I found in my experience that the latino folk were much freindlier and welcoming of Afro Americans than the folks in the Orlando area. But, then again I was younger an much more mackish in those days

Orlando is still rather backwards if you ask me.. Lived here for years. It's getting better though... but a lot of people in Orlando are racist undercover.. some rednecks (there are a lot of them) can even be outright racist. Nothing like up north.. And remember, Florida was the last state in the USA to racially integrate the schools!!..so the parents of the younger crowd could have gone to segregated schools with racist mentalities. I don't like Orlando... people are divided.. no united community.. stick to your own kind type of deal. It sucks unless you are hanging out with your bubble of friends..

I honestly think you are the only person that feels it's a good city for that. I can tell you all from personal experience.. it is not.
