Default Area near Hoffner and Goldenrod an okay/safe place to live?

Does anyone think the area near Hoffner and Goldenrod would be an okay/safe place to live? I found a house that I really like in the Stonebridge Village neighborhood, but I'm not too sure about that part of town. I've read a lot of posts on here that say to avoid the Goldenrod area, but it seems like maybe it is a bit better that far south (seems close to Vista Lakes). Can anyone living around this area give me some feedback?

I've lived in Orlando for a long time, but have pretty much always rented in the downtown/colonialtown area. I'm now looking at buying a home (can't be a condo or townhouse), but on a VERY limited budget ($150,000). Because of this, I can't really afford a decent house in the areas I really like (Winter Park, Baldwin Park, Thornton Park, College Park, etc.), and I'm having to be open to new areas.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
