Wink Well...

This is not a thread for locals. I know you are desensitized to it (like me), but the out of town people do not have local news chanells and cannot see what is going on.

Crime can happen anywhere, but the surge of crime we have had since Katrina is staggering and it is more than most other areas of the US. More than I have ever experienced since the "crack turf wars" back in the mid-80's in Orlando.

If the thread bothers you, can I kindly ask you NOT to look at it. This is a news thread and you are welcome to post any crime news you like.

Yes, it is not a nice thread, and that is why there is a disclaimer on the first page, on the first post.

Thank you for helping us make the forum better and more informative, exposing ALL sides of Central Florida!

Default Some more news.

In this thread, yes. But it is a true side the out of town folk do not know and many would rather NOT get caught in this mess here in Orlando.

I think they have a right to be informed and THEY can make up their own minds as to what they should do (ie. move elsewhere, get a house alarm and a gun, live in a different area of Orlando, be more careful, etc).

But like I said, you could find pictures upon pictures of crime in any city. I don't know why you're acting like this is any different? With your logic we should just carry a gun everywhere--because these pics exist in every single city.

Just tell the out-of-towners to avoid South Orange Blossom Trail, the west side of downtown Orlando and Pine Hills.

That about covers it.

Other areas may have some crime, but these are the major areas and the majority of murders, home invasions and such are directly drug related. If you're not into the drug scene in some way, chances are you'll never encounter the criminal element.

Nirvana, you have to pick and choose a good area in ANY city. So this is not a unique thing...

Default They have a right to know Orlando is NOT safe anymore.

This is not unique to YOU. I grew up in Orlando and this level of criminal violence and criminal element did NOT exist in Orlando. The local Orlando crime was very minimals, always concentrated into the East side of Orlando, OBT, Oakridge, and the usual places.

Now, it is getting so bad, not even Casselberry can escape getting people robbed and murdered in the early evening by some gang. Casselberry!!!

To make matters worse, crime has spilled over to my fav side of town: Metro Wst. It got so bad we got the hell out and moved to Lake Mary, but guess what? We are beiong terrorized in lake Mary now by Sanford hispanic gangs, which I heard on talk radio is MS-13, America's most violent illegal alien gang.

Crime in Orlando was almost non-existant 3 years ago (was localized to East Orlando and the usual bad areas). Now it's everywhere!

It's like hell's doors were opened and every scum bucket in this country ( or in the world, as we have a ton of illegals) decided to come down to Orlando/Central FL and victimize people. It pisses me off. People from out of town need to know. They have a right to know!

Ps. Yes, I have a gun permit and I do carry a gun. I am smarter than just wait for some crack head to want to kill me? Nah.

And you're smart enough to go into foreclosure because of the heat in Florida? What the heck? If you knew you hated heat, WHY would you buy a home in Florida?

Look at the Orlando crime stats on city-data. I'm not saying they're the only stats to go by, but it appears that crime has been high for years. It may be different people (aliens) causing it now; but the stats are the same as they were in 1999 more or less.

You're just bitter and angry and using that to mislead people. Crime was just as high 3 years ago. Face it. Some years in the past were HIGHER crime than this year.

It's NOT an overnight problem!

Hey I think I know why you call yourself "Mickey Mouse is Dead".

Because a crack user killed him!! Hey, it's Orlando, no surprise there! lol

LOL.... you crack me up. Thanks for the good laugh. I pumped gas at an Orlando gas station that was robbed not even 5 mins after that by two thugs who need to go to prision for a long, long time. Whether they will go or not, is another story, as people in Orlando get away with everything.....
