Florida Gun Permit
Yes crime is RAMPANT in Orlando. Get a Florida Concealed Firearms License and defend yourself if ACTUALLY threatened with death or serious bodily injury! It's good to avoid situations, but what do you do when the police are not around and you get attacked, lay down and die? Get your license, USE YOUR BRAIN, live your life and don't worry as much!

crime
It is true what is going on outhere, is like a war in our own backyard. Crime is not where the hot places is like Pine Hills, Parramore or Metrowest, is everywhere. You are not safe no more even watching your back.
We are victim of a crime. My son in law, Alejandro Rivera (Cabo) and his friend Hector Santiago were both gunned down, the motive robbery. Just to steal a gold Jesus pendant. They did not only took what they wanted, they took the lifes of two young mens. And those criminals are still free, no justice has been done. On November 20, 2006, my grandson lost his daddy because of some thugs that have no respect for life.
On September 25, 2007 there will be an event National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Crime at Longford Park, Orlando. Starting at 10:00 am.
Spread the words. JUSTICE NEED TO BE DONE. Too many cases are still unsolved. The question is Who is going to be next?

I agree with you .............and these people that are saying it's not so bad and that we need to stop watching the news are just rich people making 50k a year and living in GATED communities with less issues.......I have been robbed at gunpoint in Altamonte and had a knife in my face in Downtown Orlando. People should watch the news and see the actual issues but not be overwhelmed at the same time.....People who say we are just scarring people away from Orlando are just lucky that they arent victims and they dont know what it is like to be one or have a family member as a victim.......Things don't just happen to people only in bad areas or to drug dealers.......the scum of the city goes out to nice areas on the hunt for someone to steal from...........don't let the news stories and people on here consume your life but know that you can be a victim "ANYWHERE" in Orlando so watch your back.

Orlando needs a NY/Giuliani style crackdown on crime. It needs to start with stiffer enforcement of all the laws, even the petty ones- cops need to start actually pulling people over for driving like maniacs or littering. When the criminal element gets tired of the cops busting them, they will get the message and leave. We also need more police and better ways to track and predict crime. Politically crime should be the number one issue, next to growth management, for the area- in fact the two issues are related. Orlando is attracting the wrong kinds of people, and I don't mean in terms of race I mean in terms of disposition and income.
