Default Looking for short term rental.

I am in the process of buying a house and the closing has been delayed. I already gave notice to vacate my apartment and have to leave at the end of this month. So now I am in the process of looking into options of where to live until the house closes. Obviously I don't want to sign a lease for an extended period of time since I will hopefully be moving in a few weeks. It is myself my girlfriend and two small cats, I have had some friends offer to let us stay with them but that might not be the most comfortable option especially if it turns into more like 3-4 weeks instead of 1-2. I have looked into extended stay hotels, which would be ideal since they are week to week and about $150 a week, the problem with most of these are the cats most do not allow pets. I did find one that will allow pets but I am a little hesitant to stay there, it doesn't seem look to be one of the safer ones. So if anyone has any suggestions for a short term rental solution about $150 a week let me know.
