Default Is The Lofts a good apartment complex?

I'm researching places to live. I'll be going to UCF and I need something thats somewhat close. The Lofts look amazing. Any input?

I live at the Lofts. The staff is nice, the property is maintained fairly well (there is a bit of trash in the landings sometimes but otherwise it is ok). However, there has been a problem with crime in the complex. This is not unique to the Lofts - all of the college communities in this area have problems with crime - and some of them (Pegasus Landing and Pegasus Pointe) are famous for it.

I can't say that I feel 100% safe here, but I don't feel totally unsafe either. Someone did try to break into our apartment a couple of months ago - but was unsuccessful. The Lofts changed our locks immediately and provided help for us. This happened during the day. During the night they have patrols that ride around the parking lots - so I feel much safer than I did previously. Some apartments also have a security system so you might want to ask about those.

If you are looking for college-type housing in the area - I would very hestitantly recommend it only because it is better than many of the other similarly typed apartments. However, it might be safer (and more enjoyable) for you to try to rent a room or a house with friends in another part of town (closer to Avalon or Oviedo).
