Tell us more about what you're looking for. Price range, size and type of house, yard, no yard?

What part of texas? I moved from Austin to S. Fl (WPB) a couple years ago, and hate it here. It's like a third-world country (where I'm originally from), most everyone's rude, and everyone walks around like they are in some type of gang. So I can understand how you feel.

Currently considering moving to Orlando area also, but my research says it still won't be as nice as Austin. But if you're coming from Houston or Dallas etc, maybe it's a good move for you.

I heard from a few people that east Orlando is nice, but haven't had the time to drive up and check it out so far. But I do know that I want to be far away from the Kissimmee/tourist areas.

Excellent idea...I live on the west side of town near Ocoee and really like it here. If you get a job downtown, 408 is a bear with traffic coming from the East side...keep that in mind.

I work for myself, so job location is not a prob for me. Though I would need to find commercial property near where I would live.

BTW, I have driven around an area called "Hunter's creek" (IIRC) and thought it looked nice, though I haven't investigated it in detail yet.

Default Clermont, Susan's landing neighborhood

Can anyone tell me about Clermont, and Susans landing neighborhood. What kind of neighborhood is it, and would you recommend moving to the area with a family of five (3 kids school age).

Texas is the number 1 state where people are moving to. Florida is the opposite and rapidly losing population for the first time. Florida is double the cost of living and housing. Not to mention the few jobs available pay next to nothing. Unless you have a great job lined up you might want to think twice. Florida is not the place to be right now. The grass is always greener but many people are leaving Florida for Texas for much cheaper living and good job opportunities.

Orlando is one of the fastest growing metro areas in the country, check the link below. I don't see where the cost of living is that high here. Prices are plummeting from their artificially inflated prices of a few years ago, and there is no state tax.
