attention orlando locals!! what is "winter" like?
Ok let me hear from the people who do live here all year, what is winter like?
How cold does it get? Do I need to pack up my winter jackets and bring those along with me, or do I need a light jacket for chillier days?
Everyone says I will "miss my seasons" but I highly doubt I will miss the snow!

acejka,
It's not too bad your first couple of winters but as your blood thins it will become much cooler. When I first moved here from Richmond, Virginia I would joke about it but now I have a coat I keep in the car if I'm out and about after sundown.
We had multiple hard freezes February, March; golf courses were hit hard and ornamental plants in landscaping but this was quick and the nice weather is still here as of today. Sat on the patio tonite with the wife and enjoyed the ducks and a wild rabbit muching dinner.
The cool weather here is mixed with humidity and it can go right to the bone but it doesn't last long.
The joke here is you can tell the locals in a restaurant, it's the ones with their sweaters or light jackets on.

Orlando gets hotter in the summer but cooler in the winter when compared to South Florida. The "winters" though are much shorter when compared to up north! Here I am in NY and on June 1st we will be at about 45 degrees before the sun comes up...brutal.

During the day I just wear a sweater over long sleeves and long pants, but at night when I walk the dog at 8:00 pm in late December through late February, it's cold enough that I put on my wool barn coat.
I don't wear my cashmere sweaters down here, but definitley wear a lot of long sleeves and lighter weight sweaters in the winter.

Awesome! That's the reason we all move here. Yes it does get cooler on some days (30's) but warms up to 60-70. It's so much better than PA. The main thing is that the sun still shines!

Its great during the day, unless your shooting across the lake in a fast bass boat...get a good coat, you will feel the chill then! The nights get a bit cooler, long sleeves or a light jacket are enough for me, I dont walk outdoors alot and dont want to carry my jacket indoors (malls, rest, etc...)

Its beautiful in the winter. Sunny +Very warm during the day and mild at night. Keep in mind our average high in Jan is low 70's and overnight low in Jan. averages 50 degrees. I wouldn't call that cold! We typically have four-five nights per year where we drop into the mid 30's but only lasts for a couple hours then back into 70's/80's. Its great.

At the worst, it will be low 50s during the day. At night, we do have some freezes. Typically, it will be lows in the mid 40s, highs in the low 60s. And it doesn't rain during this time either. Just cool air and blue sky.
Now the summers... Even so, I still wear long pants and jackets during the summer. It might be 90+ outside, but inside everywhere its low 70s from the AC!

The majority of the time the highs are in the upper 60's to high 70's - sometimes even low 80's in the daytime and in the mid to upper 50's - low 60's at night. The occasional cold snaps (usually lasting only a couple of days) may drop us into the low 40's even 30's at night and only warm up to the 50's-low 60's in the daytime. I've lived here my entire life and remember only a few days when the high was below 45. Below freezing temps probably average 2-3 nights a year - some years there are more, some years there are none.
My winter wardrobe consists of layers because it almost always gets warm in the afternoons. I layer a short sleeve shirt with a light jacket for mornings and evenings. I have a few long sleeve shirts and a couple of sweaters - but I rarely wear then.
