IIRC I thought thornton park (and colonial town) was a bit old (ie: the homes, not the people ). FWIW, I like very properties that are clean and contemporary inside, and preferably outside too, though that's no real issue when I'm renting.

One thing I noticed and liked about Orlando, is that there are parks and lakes in the middle of the city, attached to life/activity, rather than parks in S. Fl being separate entities, and lakes pretty much being enclosed in housing communities, and accessible only to the homeowners.

Cheers,
-Neil.

Default Winter Park!

Check out the streets parallel to Park Avenue in Winter Park between the golf course and Fairbanks Ave. I know there are apartments on the 300 block of Knowles Ave, which makes Park Ave, the Saturday morning farmer's market, Central Park, lots of shops and restauraunts, a variety of churches, even a little lake access point at the east end of Canton St. all within easy walking distance! There may be some condos on one of those streets for rent, too. Beautiful area. The Methodist Church on Interlachen has great contemporary and traditional services. And Rollins College offers a lot of cultural activities as well. Okay, I confess: I lived in that area loooong ago and loved it for all the reasons listed above. Good luck!

On the intersection of Central Florida Parkway and International Drive

it is not in the tourist district, right accross from the Orlando Premium Outlets, minimal traffic and they are brand new. If you are interested I can hook you up and refer you as they are offering special rates to resident referrrals only. zhaydrixrobles@yahoo.com let me know if you are interested so I can send you info.
