Lake Mary- Nirvana-Guy
Here's the crime stats for the safe place that Nirvana-guy lives. It's not any different where you live than anywhere else in Orlando. You talk about how it's safer than anywhere else in Orlando. Look at the percentages. For a town with 12,000 people it looks kinda high.

Yup, he's busted alright. Guess Lake Mary isn't a haven like he acts like it is. The bottom line being that there's crime everywhere.
Also, it appears that Orlando crime:

Is property crime for the most part. There's violent crime, but not that much more than any normal city. Property crime is high, but hey, that's not deadly.

Lake Mary has more than 12,000 people. Whatever stats you have are outdated. We get the Lake Mary local paper and it's boomed to almost 40,000 people now.
I called LMPD before moving there. It is MUCH safer than East Orlando (Orlando in general).
Been in Lake Mary 2 years and I come home late, totally relaxed. It is 100x safer than Orlando, specially East Orlando. My cousins live in absolute fear in East Orlando.
Try going to Lake Mary at night. Instead of loud 1980 Honda Civics with big mufflers, we have Lamborghinis and Ferraris driving on the streets. All the malls and shopping areas are super well-kept and everyone acts with a lot more class.
Lake Mary is almost a separate part of FL. It is NOTHING LIKE THE HELLHOLE ORLANDO IS RIGHT NOW (and I grew up in West Orlando - MetroWest).

So why are you moving?
Putting your home into foreclosure because of the heat?

If there's 40,000 then it's probably 4 times the crime. Oh, maybe the last 30,000 people who moved there are great (no bad people). The bad ones moved to Orlando/East Orlando not Lake Mary. After they read this they'll be there soon now.

Yeah...we're living in absolute terror here in east Orlando now that we've been enlightened about all the crime that happens. I'm going to buy a gun ....heck let's make that an AK47...I might as well have as much firepower as those kids out there on the tennis court...you know the ones that are all part of a gang because they speak a language that's not English.
Heaven protect us from those hoodlums that meet at the BasketBall courts in the afternoons after school....I can only imagine what they're hiding under their shorts and t-shirts....and I'm not even going to get started on those kids swimming in the community pool.
I'm glad I have several neighbors who are ex Army special forces and Navy Seals...hey man we need all the protection we can get here in East Orlando.
I can't imagine what my next door neighbors were thinking when they bought out here - they're realtors they should have known better!
Well, I gotta get going...get those bars installed on the windows out here, you know. We could get hit any moment now!

They must be using silencers on their guns here in East Orlando, because I have not heard one shot since I moved here. Of course maybe the shots get drowned out by all the happy children playing in Town Square at Avalon. Or maybe it is just me and my friends too busy downing some beer at the friendly businesses that line the area.

Are you guys under the influence when coming to the forum??
When was the last time you guys were in Lake Mary? It is much more snazzy than Orlando (definitelly 100x better than East Orlando). East Orlando is a huge dumpster of ghetto homes with nice ones in Avalon Park and certain parts of Waterford Lakes.
In Lake Mary, the "worst" crimes we hear here are people entering garages to steal bicycles or people toilet papering someone's yard. In Orlando, you have at least 3 murders a day and God knows how many robberies and shootings in the streets. Not to mention females being pulled off to the side by druken nutcases and raped.
Please call Lake Mary PD and get some crime stats. They are low! I have called and live din Lake Mary for over 2 years now. Lake Mary is much safer, man. Get with the program!

Many reasons.

For the reasons most people move out of Orlando:
Weather in FL sucks. It's too damn hot and too damn humid 9 months out of the year.
Public schools in FL sucks.
Wages in FL sucks.
Car Insurance in FL is too high.
Home insurance is way too high.
Property taxes in FL suck.
Rude drivers on I-4 suck. Massachussetts, NY, and NJ license plates are the worse offenders.
Rude northern people at grocery stores.
Massive # of illegal aliens killing people in traffic and causing accidents w/o insurance.
Traffic on I-4 sucks.
Traffic on streets suck. The incompetent city management starts a construction project on every damn road in this city! THEY NEVER FINISHED THE FIRST PROJECT AND START ANOTHER PROJECT ELSEWHERE. THERE ARE ORANGE BARREL EVERYWHERE FOR YEARS!!
Cost of living in FL is too high.
Hurricanes.
Tornadoes are getting old (tornadoes are due AGAIN on Sat late night/Sunday early morning this weekend).
Crime in Orlando (I work in downtown Orlando) is sky high and that sucks. The gas station I pump gas at off of Gore was robbed and people shot 2 days ago.
......
..............
..................... Do I need to keep going?
