I have a friend from work who has a condo in the Grand. I think this are is fine. They are also going to build the Performing Arts center across the street. I think this will be a good location for a long time.

The area that is sketchy is on the other side of I4. I worked every day right downtown for 3 years and I have seen alomost everything, and I think the Grand is fine...

Thank you for the reply. So I4 is bad? The Grande is close to that. Might not be good.

The West side of I-4 is not so good. I think the Grand is still in a good spot you have several other condo's between the Grand and I-4.

There is notthing wrong with the grande location in terms of crime vs. any other area of downtown. Of course you are backing right to the 408 so that's not so great. In any case though, before you buy a condo downtown make sure you are aware of that market. While there is a huge pick up in sales activity all around orlando, the downtown condo market is still pretty risky. High HOA dues, High REO and short sale inventory, financing problems, maintenance problems etc all plague many of the condo's downtown.
