Most people leave job fairs dissapointed. There was an article in the Tampa Tribune where a job fair had 45 companies and most admitted they weren't hiring.

This fair was held over the last few days.

They also charged people $3 for admission or asked them to bring in four cans of food to feed the homeless at this fair. Thought that was tacky to ask people out of work to pay a fee or bring food.

The problem is most of these jobs that have been listed aren't going to pay a salary that anyone can really live on.

Someone collecting unemployment would be better off staying on unemployment than taking a minimum wage position, and keep looking.

One thing we all need to realize is that while there is currently a shortage of jobs compared to the historical standard, there will always be a greater shortage of people who actually want to come to work every day and do a good job.
