Lovebugs...did I miss them??
I don't know what happened, but I didn't see a single love bug this year. I just realized it is almost July and the first wave should have already come and gone by now.

That's odd - I live in South Florida and we didn't have a single one. Furthermore, I just drove the entire length of the Turnpike and back and not a single one. I believe they have been spraying as I have not seen any in years.

I know! I asked the same thing in May. (They are usually around in May and Sept/Oct) Maybe the rain kept them away?

I thought they were light this year too.
I remember just a couple years ago, we were on the bike and took RT 33 down to Polk City. We had to stop a couple time to clean off the windshild and our glasses.
We got off the bike and laughted when we crunched.
I think we were a walking lovebug graveyard.

We have always visited the area in Sept. and always see lots of them then ~ do they come multiple times of the year?
We live near Orlando and had quite a few for a couple of weeks a couple of months ago.

May and October are the most popular months for them.
They seem to love the pine trees so where you see a lot of pine you'll see the bugs.
