Default Question about IT or HR

Hello,
This is my first post. We have been trying to move to Orlando for 3 years. My husband is in IT and has a really high level position here. He has had 4 really good prospects in the last 2 months (one of them disney) and he was told all 4 times that he was their second choice due to the other candidate being local. We have said many times that we would pay relocation ourselves and that we can be there in 2 weeks to allow him time to give notice to his current employer. Is this "local" issue something that is common? The IT industry seems to be booming. Any suggestions as to where we should look? I know that most 6 figure salaries are not listed on career builder. It just seems like a conspiracy to keep people out!

Some of these posts have me scared to death! We love it there and spend a good 2 months of the year there. I know all about the weather and the housing issues. I didn't realize the crime was so bad though.
I also didn't realize how much people hate Disney.

Anyway, any input that you could give would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!

Crime is not that bad...I've lived here for 25 years, my husband was born/raised here and we have never had any problem with crime - nor have any of our friends/neighbors.

Also, not everyone hates Disney. Disney has its issues like many other businesses - and certainly isn't the company Walt envisioned anymore. However, Orlando would probably still be a cow town if it were not for Disney.

Many of us enjoy what Disney brings/offers to the Orlando lifestyle.
