A correction to the above: Disney is not in Kissimmee. Over 80% of the Disney complex lies in Orange county, not Osceola County. The mailing address for Disney World is Lake Buena Vista, which is in Orange County.

Also FYI, although with their prix fixe menu, Victoria and Alberts appears to be the most expensive in the area, in reality most people find that Christini's works out to be slightly more expensive.

The largest home in the Orlando area belongs to David Siegel and is located in Lake Butler Sound. It's not yet complete, but is rumored to be 90,000 s/f when it's done! (Ostentatious, anyone?)

While Disney doesn't have it's own police force (they pay an annual fee to Orange County Sheriff's Office), they do have there own fire department...Reedy Creek.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I also believe they have their own phone system too.

And I never knew that Rollins College had a mascot. Who says you can't learn me good? lol

From their web site:

PURPOSE
The Reedy Creek Improvement District, in accord with its enabling legislation, is responsible to the owners of land within the District and the public to provide for surface water control and drainage, utilities and mosquito control; roads and bridges; land use regulation and planning; fire protection; emergency medical services; environmental services; data collection and evaluation; building and other construction codes enforcement and inspections; and interface with local, regional, state and federal regulatory agencies.

As a special taxing district, The Reedy Creek Improvement District must operate in accordance with its charter and state laws governing such districts. Just as any city or county, the income is derived from taxes and fees imposed within its boundaries. In the case of the Reedy Creek Improvement District, the major portion of taxes are paid to the District by Walt Disney World Co. and other property owners, who also pay property taxes to Orange and Osceola Counties.

Walt Disney World Resort - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

On February 2, 1967, Roy O. Disney held a press conference at the Park Theatres in Winter Park, Florida. The role of EPCOT was emphasized in the film that was played, the last one recorded by Walt Disney before his death. After the film, it was explained that for Walt Disney World to succeed, a special district would have to be formed: the Reedy Creek Improvement District with two cities inside it, the City of Bay Lake and the City of Reedy Creek (now the City of Lake Buena Vista). In addition to the standard powers of an incorporated city, which include the issuance of tax-free bonds, the district would have immunity from any current or future county or state land-use laws. The only areas where the district had to submit to the county and state would be property taxes and elevator inspections.[1]

The legislation forming the district and the two cities was signed into law on May 12, 1967. The Florida Supreme Court ruled in 1968 that the district was allowed to issue tax-exempt bonds for public projects within the district despite the sole beneficiary being Walt Disney Productions.

Disney is not in Kissimmee or Orlando. Disney is it's own township. A small part, Animal Kingdom area, is in Osceola county, the majority is in Orange county. Kissimmee starts at the Osceola Pkwy, Disney World Parks are north of that, although the Osceola Pkwy is the route to the Animal Kingdom and resort.

Yes and no. The All Star Resorts are all in Osceola County--which is why the tax there is 1% higher than at the other resorts!

The Boring OC is on a distinguished road
People can't still drive. They switch lanes with no signals, cut you off then slow down, exceed the limit by 20-miles or above than posted looking like the running of the bulls with their cars in the mornings. It's like they all share one half functional brain which some days works good others is a dud.

House values are in the dumb.

"Neighbors" rather call the county code enforcement on you after 24-hours of you first moving-in with your U-Haul and PODS still park in your driveway than give you the welcome.

Wal-Mart is full of uneducated idiots. While Target is full with more uneducated idiots.

People can't drive... Oh I mentioned that already.... my bad.

Richard "Double Dipping" Crotty is one of the biggest thieves in the city. While Buddy Dyer is a closeted homosexual (Lance Bass called he wants his weird eyes, smile and neck move back!).

The Parliament House is NOT a club/casino, but a place where married men who are tired of their wives find a new friend or an old friend if their wives are the bossy type.

Millenia is a registered typo trademark created in order to milk the area and kick out the poor Black people who live in it first for more new retail developements.

The newscasts are ALL boring. Along with their so-called personalities. They resource to cover crappy news from other crappy counties.

The Orlando Police, OCSO, OCC and UCF **think** they own the citizens and their properties with their pathetic lectures and arrogant behavior.

The favorite number of Code Enforcement is 1,000.

Everyone is extremely envious of you and what you have. So much that, they won't even greet you if you are driving a 1-day older car or you're simply dress better than they are. this is much worse if is a much better brand and look than theirs.

Orlando is a Wanna-be City full of plastic brainless "citizens" who **think** they have some sort of advantage over Miami (which they don't) and life the fantasy of be like the real OC just because every road ends on one of their 5-tolls roads, share 4-theme parks with a neighboring dust ball county, had their first American Idol audition and had their mediocre basketball team made it to the finals which they lost against the real OC team.

There's a sub-division everywhere.

Every POS auto dealer or business has to have the "of Orlando" next to their names just in case their brainless citizens had forgot about it.

Businessmen are so cheap they resource to make their own commercials., some, like Appliance Direct pay over $100,000 a week to run a 5-minute paid commercial loop over and over. Others, will simply run 30-seconds spots 1,000 times a day.

Waterford Lakes Town Center is the ONLY shopping attraction on the East Side. Park Avenue in Winter Park does not count unless you're plastic and wear your money while you chuck down on your flavored designer coffee.

Downtown Orlando is a disgrace. Even Paris Hilton left her sponsored club behind.

Nothing is top-notch quality. Not even the so-called "plush" restaurants.
