Well our price rang isn't great by the looks of things down there, we need to stay a thousand or less a month. I wish we could get a condo but we have to have a yard for our small dogs.
Thanks

Thanks so much for ya'lls help!
A lot of people get Ocoee and Winter Garden mixed up with Oviedo and Winter Springs. The two pairs of suburbs are totally different.. Ocoee & Winter Garden are west of downtown Orlando and generally not great areas in Orange county. Oviedo & Winter Springs are northeast of Orlando and generally very good areas of Seminole county.

That's going to be tough, but not impossible. Look in Colonialtown or Belle Isle. Smaller, older homes but all have yards, and I'm still seeing rents in the $900-1000 range around there. Both are reasonably safe.

Oviedo and Winter Springs are nice areas, but im not sure if you have actually been to Winter Garden because it has some great areas. It has a fantastic new shopping and dinning area and indeed many areas cross over with Windermere (an extremely desireable area. So much so many high profile sports personalities such as Tiger Woods choose to have homes there). I would agree Winter Garden north of hwy 50 isnt a great area but south is a fantastic area.

Eh, not so much. Remember, Tildenville and it's surrounding Winter Garden neighborhoods are south of 50, and there are some sktchy areas near the high school. Winter Garden is one of those areas where one street makes a difference.

As a resident of the area i would strongly disagree. The high school is literally right next to hwy 50 which as i said before is not a great area. You cannot be telling me that areas such as stoneybrook west, summerport, independence, stonecrest are bad areas. These areas, (with the exception of Summerport as it is technically calssed as windermere) make up a large portion of Winter Garden south of 50. With the development of Fowlers grove enhancing an even greater area. The fact that in its development phase they decided not to include a movietheater into Sowlers grove was an excellent idea so as not to attract a rough element who hang around those facilities which remain open very late.

Which area do you live in just out of curiosity?

I think Winter Garden could give them more bang for their buck than neighborhoods near downtown Orlando. Since they're renting, they can always leave if they find they don't like it.

Go back and read what I wrote. I did not say all areas south of 50 are bad. Not by any means. I said SOME areas south of 50 are sketchy. You can't simply draw a line in the sand and say everything south of this point is great, because it's simply not true, and it can be very misleading to those who don't know better.

I live in Clermont. I spent three years working on 50 in the heart of Winter Garden and know the area well enough to justify my comments. And I stand by what I said, in Winter Garden, one street can make a difference.

I'm moving down there due to work in about 6 weeks as well. Im not really sure exactly where my "work" is located yet...we won't really know until last minute. But I'm super stressed about relocating, my two young children and my companion will also have to find work. Let me know if you find something...
