Does anyone have an issue with their Brighthouse internet access going out for about 10-45 seconds at a time multiple times per day (or each sitting)?

For example, I'm surfing the internet and everything seems to be working correctly. I then click on a link or type in a URL, and then I spend 10-45 seconds or so waiting for the server to be contacted. When this happens, I type in the name of another website to see if it is just a problem with the specific site I am trying to access, but that is not the case. Then all of a sudden, the page finally loads and I can access everything again. When I was visiting family in another area and using my laptop on their network, this wasn't a problem.

Yes, I have that problem as well. In fact lately when I first turn on it takes a few attempts to get a connection. I get the W instead of the D for Dell, and have to try a few times.

I am also having to log on( maybe this isn't a connection problem) to sites I normally visit, like this one and reenter a password. This is something new.

Their cable TV service is whole issue itself...LOL.

I have had the same problem - we just got brighthouse recently. The first week it was great, then the second week it would drop many times throughout the day. I know a little about this stuff, so I troubleshooted my modem, router and wireless connections.

I was convinced it was brighthouse. I called them and talked to support for about 30 mins - they did a hard reset of the modem and ran some tests on the line. Since then it has worked a lot better. I have not had the drop outs but I still feel like it is not as fast as it was the first week - hard to say as kids are off school, so we have a lot of pc's, xbox's etc connected at the same time.

Try calling them and explain the problem and ask them to do a hard reset. I found them very friendly and helpful.

Haven't had a problem here in a couple of years now. Reset the modem every now and then to clear it out and you should be set to go.

They have a lot of bad equipment. If you call them and ask them to replace their modem, that should fix it. I had this same problem about 4 years ago, and I know someone else who had the same problem. This also happens a lot with the cable boxes.

I'll be switching to Embarq next month. I called Bhouse to see if they would match my deal but they won't, I guess they don't want my business. And I do have my modem go out sometimes. One night it was completely down, the next morning it worked fine. Can't wait for some more companies to enter the market, it seems Brighthouse has a monopoly in many areas here.
