Those are off the top of my head that are accredited colleges and universities offering a music business program. I'd look there first. I know there are plenty of others.
Entertainment Buisness Degree is not only for music, from what I read from papers you can work in Tour Management, Movie Producer ETC./part of the team behind a celebrity, work as their publicist or any other related-job. Unless the papers I got are saying wrong... that's what im aware of. Once I have my degree, i'd like to try-out Vegas for a production company or something. Im curious...

You're not getting work as a publicist without a comminications or journalism degree, and a minor in marketing is helpful as well.

Your problem is that you don't know what you want to do. You need to figure that out and then go from there.

The course of study for a publicist (as mentionied above) is going to be completely different from a lighting designer (a BS in electrical engineering or a BA in theater arts would be the proper degree) which will be different from a booking agent (which would be a BA in business management with a lot of extra coursework in business law and contracts) which would be different from a tour manager--many of which either have a degree in accounting or sound engineering.

In all honesty the majority of people I know who have made their mark on the entertainment industry did NOT go to a specialized music/entertainment program. They got a degree from a regular college in a relevant discipline, made their connections while working at the school radio station, newspaper, or concert board, got an internship in the industry, then found a job. Those working in the touring end of the music industry generally got their start working for free humping gear for a local band and got dragged up as the band got bigger, then networked into bigger and better gigs.

It's NOT all about where you go to school, it's all about who you know. I got mostof my gigs because I was suggested for the job by people I knew. They came to me. That's the way it works in that industry. You simply will not get hired if you don't network with the right people.

You also may want to check with other forums and networking groups that specifically deal with the entertainment industry. Many professionals post on these forums and it is a great way to network and get inside info before you make a decision.

bro you gotta look harder. Just after a 5 minute search I found out that NYU and UM have the same programs as full sail. Getting admitted into them are the hardest part but at least the education is top notch. If I were you I would get a Bus Amin degree with a minor in media marketing or entertainment or something like that. Depends on what your trying to do. Those specialty degrees are only good for what it is made for. I was lookin into the same idea as you when I first got into college for music to be apart of the hip hop industry. But then I thought to my self all that money spent isn't worth it when there is no garuntee you will make a good salary. It's all about who you know and what skills you bring to the table. You can find those entertainment industry skills in a better place than orlando being that you not even from the US.

Thanks alot guys for the infos, I def. know what I want to do, but im not sure where to go/where to start and what will get me into the areas I want. In the end, it's all about connections I assume. I was told that Pepperdine-U in Beverly Hills is a good one (referal by St-John, a popular radio host in the Bay and LA). I might look into-it.

Although, if I were going to take Gen Ed classes, I would certainly look into VCC, or other community colleges rather than paying such a high premium at a private school. We offer complete career specific programs, our students do not take Gen Ed courses, nor do we require them. There is a school out there for everyone, it just depends on the needs of the student. Certainly, for careers in Recording Arts, Film and Video, and even Ent. Biz, Education is optional, but highly recommended in today's technology fields. Now, if I am going to pursue an MBA, thats a different story. Even I would tell my kids to start at VCC, transfer to UCF, then transfer again to Rollins, or a school of similar stature.
You would also want credits to transfer in instances of continuing your education...say, if you received a BS degree and wanted to continue for your Masters, obviously, you would want most or all your credits to be transferable if you wished to attend a different school for your Masters - which is very common practice. Most Universities would not recognize the degree from F.I.R.S.T. or Full Sail towards their higher education requirements.

Just adding another layer of thought to the process here. You may not be thinking about this now, but you may in five or ten years from now.

I belong to half a dozen of them. Two on LinkedIn and four on Yahoo Groups. They aren't "Entertainment Industry" they are specific to various fields within that industry. As I said before, figuring out what you want to do when you grow up is the first step.
