Generally near Seminole Town Center isn't bad at all... Schools are hit or miss out there, but there are few that I'd say are horrible (Pinecrest and Midway Elem I'd hesitate to send my kid to..... Maybe Sanford Middle and I'm not a huge fan of Seminole High, but it's not near as bad as it's reputation).

Neighborhoods just depend and are really the biggest wildcard in Sanford. Some are good, some aren't. Not real clear on where Astor Farms is.

my dad just sold 5 acres in that area and moved away. i lived with him for a few years so i am very familiar with that area and now live in lake mary. that side of sanford is fine and you won't see many problems except traffic. you are close to heathrow so it's nice and they keep it that way. lake mary has everything you could need and downtown is only about 20 min. away. seminole county schools are some of the best as you can see in the research you have done i am sure. down around downtown sanford and around 17-92 in sanford is where you will see it go downhill fast. a buddy of mine work for the seminole co. sheriff and patrols that area. it's not pretty at times he tells me. be smart and don't put yourself in those areas and you will be okay. lock up your home and car.

I'm close to Seminole Towne Center on 46-A and things seem to be creeping up towards us! just last week we had a drive by-shooting and a few nights pasts they had a body dropped off on 417/46A. We can't watch everything....but the crime, problems, seem to travel towards Lake Mary. Be carefull where you relo to. Crime in All Central Fl. is on the Upswing, too bad

for all those ready to ask.....no the drive-by was not in the paper....most things that happen in Lake Mary are either Not reported or are reported in the closest city.

astor farms is a great neighborhood, i know it very well. there are 2 home builders that built homes in there beginning in 2004. i believe engle homes was one of them, and although i should know the second because of my job, i can't remember the second! great area, very close to 417 and I4, about 5 min. from each! then you have publix very close by, and you are on the back side of heathrow and minutes from the seminole towne center mall. feel free to email me for more info

Default RE: Sanford

I work in the school district and the schools are good. Millenium MS., Seminole HS, and Sanford MS. are decent schools wih magnet and IB programs. All Seminole county schools have a child resource law enforcement officer stationed at the school.
Sanford has both quiet low crime neighborhoods and some rough high crime neighborhoods.
