Question St Cloud opinions - recommendations - info!!

Please be upfront and honest - what's it like? It seems nice on their city site and I don't see bad info here (better than where we are from up here in NJ). Also, what about apartments? I've read of some new ones... anyone see them? Live in them?

Hi Lady,

St Cloud is actually very beautiful. I have a home there which I do not live in. The area is great and there is still much undeveloped land. It is close enough to Disney and Orlando but still far enough away from the craziness. Although I like it very much I would not live there as the hispanic population outnumbers the white population. As for apartments I have not seen any. If you are looking to rent though you may opt for a house as the rents here are extremely inexpensive.

I agree with both posts. It is beautiful but the traffic is bad but there are ways around it if you are going to Orlando (Turnpike or Narcoossee Road) but no way around it if you need to go to/through Kissimmee.
I have not found the Hispanic population to out number the whites.....yet. I still find it pretty "country" meaning a little redneck still - which I do not really mind but you might. There are tons of things to do in St. Cloud and it really has kept a lot of it's small town charm. We go to East Lake Toho and enjoy the fun activities they have there and the cute park. I also like to do my shopping at the Walmart there because it is a little less hectic then the other 2 in Kissimmee. The apartment complexes seem to be less expensive in St. Cloud then in most other areas in Central Florida. If you give me a specific complex then I can give you more details, however, on a whole most of them are safe and on the quiet side. Hope this helps!

Default Such great info!

Thanks SO much for all the input!!!
The redneck thing is NO problem here... we actually desire such a feel and lifestyle... we want some country and some small feel.
Everything I see seems so nice.
As for the demographics, the data online doesn't seem so bad to be outnumbering anyone, it's more outnumbering up here!
And lastly, the 2 complexes we are seen online are:
Sawyer Estates & Summer Cove

You are very welcome. About the apartments - my family actually looked into Sawyer estates a few years ago because of the amazing price and it did not look to bad. Because of the price you will find a little less desirable crowd but it was worth the price in my opinion. I do not know much about the other one but do know the area and it is a nice spot and much easier to get in and out of because of the traffic on Kissimmee Park Road and really close to the holy grail of St. Cloud - Walmart
