Was down in the area in the late 90's and it was great. Now I read that you guys have the 6th most dangerous city in America. What happened?

I dont think we're 6th anymore, as crime (violent crime) seems to have decreased. But a lot has definitely changed. Not too many good changes in my opinion, but what can one do, you either accept it or move on...

And that's what we've done. We've accepted it. Having said that we still like to live in Avalon Park. It is what it is. Getting to the time of year where it's nice to be down here!

Going by the murder rate it was actually just as dangerous then as it is now. The areas you probably visit, either the tourism area or the downtown, you will not see much crime.

Don't believe everything you read. It's been getting a lot better (crime decreasing).

"For the first quarter of the year, Orange County reported a 229-percent increase in aggravated assaults and batteries. Orlando reports commercial robberies are up 100-percent compared to last year"

^^^That's for the first quarter of the year. I've been hearing that's it's better for the remainder of the year.
